Atomium Privacy Statement

The Atomium attaches great importance to the personal rights of its visitors and is aware of the importance of protecting personal data. We collect and process personal data in accordance with the legal provisions. As such, we ask you to read this privacy statement carefully.

What data is collected and how is it collected?

The Atomium collects personal data including first and last names and e-mail addresses, only if they are provided voluntarily. We collect your personal information so that you can receive our newsletter and we can keep you informed about exhibitions and vernissages.

Transfer of personal data

Atomium does not pass on any personal data to third parties. In the exceptional case that this should occur, we will only pass on data if the person in question has given their consent, or if it is legally permitted to do so.

The Atomium may instruct other companies to provide services, such as performing technical services for our websites and so on. These companies can only access personal data if this is necessary for the performance of their tasks. These companies will only use personal data in the context of performing these specific tasks and not for any other purposes.

The Atomium reserves the right to use data if this is necessary to comply with legislation, protect the integrity of the website, or comply with a legitimate request.

Protection of the personal data of minors

We are especially careful with messages addressed to children and young people.
On our website, we offer activities for which children do not have to provide their personal data. We only collect limited information regarding children under the age of 13, and only as legally prescribed / with the consent of a parent or guardian. As regards the above conditions, we also collect the email address of a child, to allow them to participate in a competition. We do not collect other information regarding children under the age of 13, such as their postal address or telephone number, unless a parent or guardian has given their consent.

In short, the Atomium does not ask children to provide more information than is necessary for taking part in the activity in question, and which is legally permitted or requires the consent of a parent or guardian.

If the personal data of children has been collected, these data will only be used by the Atomium and the companies that perform technical or other services, if legally permitted, or if the consent of a parent or guardian has been obtained. These personal data will not be sold to third parties.

We ask parents to regularly monitor and supervise the online activities of their children. In the context of their participation in online activities, Atomium will not ask children to provide more personal data than is necessary for them to take part in the activity in question.

Right of access to your personal data

You retain control over all personal data you have provided to us online. If you would like to modify the information relating to you which we have stored, or modify your consent regarding the sending of messages, you can do so via the email address below.

You can check the stored data relating to you at any time, or have them deleted, or you may withdraw your consent to their use.
